The United Nations has declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity! The 10th International Symposium on Cytochrome P450 Biodiversity and Biotechnology will be held in Woods Hole from the 3rd to 7th of October, 2010. It will be from late afternoon on Sunday through to the afternoon of Thursday. This marks the return of this international symposium to Woods Hole, where it was held in 1995. The Symposium will be held in the conference facilities of the Marine Biological Laboratory, located in the seaside village of Woods Hole on the Cape Cod peninsula. An excursion and dinner are planned for the evening of Wednesday the 6th. ![]() The Symposium follows the tradition of previous meetings (Nice, Swansea, Awaji Island, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Strasbourg...) of this international community that brings together researchers and students from diverse disciplines who study cytochromes P450. New uses for new P450 enzymes discovered or created are actively sought due to the diversity of their catalytic repertoire. New insights in genome evolution are provided by the study of the large CYP gene family. The symposium tries to catch the excitement of these developments in P450 research, and you are cordially invited to participate and contribute your research to the Symposium.
