Zero to Low Energy Homes, Part II
Cape Cod Community College, West Barnstable
Marc Rosenbaum, energy engineer, will lead a sequel workshop on Zero-Low Energy
House Design: how we can specifically accomplish this in the region, given the
climate and available resources. Upgrading an existing house to improve efficiency
& reduce heating/cooling loads will also be discussed. This course has been approved for 5 AIA/CEI Credits.

The Passive House
Wellfleet Bay Audubon, Wellfleet
Katrin Klingenberg, architect, will present the techniques of “The Passive House” which
include the use of passive solar and high levels of insulation, making a house of such low
energy needs that it can be heated with the equivalent to the heat of a hair dyer!
This model has been used in Urbana, Illinois in part for affordable housing.
