Ashley Junger
Ashley Junger grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis, spending her free time exploring the woods and creeks surrounding her home. When she wasn’t wandering, she usually could be found with her nose buried in a book.
As an undergraduate at DePauw University, she pursued both of these passions, double-majoring in biology and English literature. She became an Environmental Fellow and served as historian for the Environmental Club and the vice president of the Outdoors Club. She also worked as a writing tutor, researched water purification methods for one summer internship, and studied butterfly population dynamics in Costa Rica for another.
In January 2016, she took an internship in the Communications Department at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, exploring science writing as the perfect blend of her passions.
