March 19, 2016The WHOI Academic Programs Office hosted a reception for faculty and students, past and present, at this year’s Ocean Sciences Meeting in New Orleans, a biennial conference that attracted more than 4,000 attendees. During the reception, Vice President for Academic Programs and Dean Jim Yoder (second from left) posed with Joint Program alumnus Claudia Benitez-Nelson (far left), now a College of Arts & Sciences Distinguished Professor in the Marine Science Program and Department of Earth & Ocean Sciences at the University of South Carolina, as well as WHOI Dean Emeritus John Farrington (second from right), and WHOI President and Director Mark Abbott.
