The ship on the right, M/V Alucia, was originally the Institut français de recherche pour l’exploitation de la mer‘s (Ifremer’s) R/V Nadir, the original support ship for the French research submersible Nautile and is now up for sale.

WHOI and Ifremer have a memorandum of understanding to enhance research in ocean science with a long-term objective to expand and sustain a full range of research collaborations in ocean sciences and technology, and thus contribute to improve understanding of the oceans.
