Color and Splash

Children match colors on a chart to the color of water containing a dye to indicating the pH, or acid/alkaline levels, of the water to learn about the widespread problem of ocean acidification (OA). WHOI staff offer this activity, called “OA in a cup,” and other family-friendly, ocean-related activities, at Splash Labs held on summer afternoons at the WHOI Ocean Science Exhibit Center in Woods Hole. The Exhibit Center is open to school groups and the public mid-April through December.(Photo by Kathy Patterson, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
