A CTD—a device that measure the conductivity, temperature and depth of seawater—descends through the water of glacial fjord in Greenland. Data from the instrument will help a team led by WHOI physical oceanographer Claudia Cenedese study the effect of ice and meltwater from Sermilik Glacier is having on circulation in the North Atlantic, an important part of Earth’s climate system.
