REMUS

After recovering REMUS, the docking station is secured on the fantail of a research vessel (the red tail on REMUS is visible inside the center of the cone). In the water, REMUS finds the entrance cone by homing in on the transducer mounted below it. When securely inside and latched, it recharges its batteries and downloads data collected on the programmed mission. (Oceanographic Systems Laboratory, WHOI)
