Inside REMUS
Without the vehicle's aluminum skin, it is easy to see the systems that give REMUS power and allow it navigate and gather data. Batteries in the lower part of the REMUS chassis provide stability to keep the symetrical vehicle from spinning. The lighter, modular electronics in the upper chassis are easy to access for maintenance and reconfiguration when instrument payloads are changed.
