Meet You Back Here

Leaving research vessel Atlantis behind, R/V Knorr departs WHOI’s dock for two weeks of work on the northeast continental slope of North America. The area, known to oceanographers as Line W, a group of moorings, sensors, and other instruments that help scientists observe ongoing climate changes that are evident through variations in the ocean. Periodic visits by scientists to gather even more data, including about salinity and oxygen levels. Physical oceanographer John Toole, chief scientist on the cruise, said they sampled down the entire “line” during the expedition, and came within site of Bermuda.
