New crack
July 25, 2010Ian Joughin of the Polar Science Center Applied Physics Lab at the University of Washington (UW), examines a large, angular crack in the ice during a 2008 expedition to Greenland. A team of four scientists from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and UW returned for their third year of study to better understand how Greenland’s ice sheet is disappearing.
