A visit to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is your ticket to ocean science discovery!

Each visit supports our mission to advance the understanding of the ocean and communicating this knowledge for the benefit of society. 

TOUR

WHOI welcomes individuals and small groups to visit WHOI for a guided tour of some of its facilities. The tours are free but require reservations in advance.  

Group Tours

WHOI offers guided tours for groups of six or more throughout the year.  

School Field Trips

Visiting WHOI is a fun and engaging way to reinforce lessons learned in the classroom, promote exploration and discovery, and instill a sense of curiosity about the ocean and ocean research.

Climb inside a replica model of the deep sea submersible, Alvin. Learn about WHOI’s discovery and exploration of the sunken HMS Titanic. Immerse yourself in full digital experience of the Ocean Twilight Zone. There’s something for everyone to discover!
