Arctic Ice

Data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center shows that, over the past three decades, the extent of Arctic sea ice (the area of the Arctic Ocean with at least 15 percent ice coverage) has declined considerably. This has potentially far-reaching effects in the Arctic ecosystem and in climate patterns across the Northern Hemisphere. (Data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center)
