Atlantis Returns

  • atlantis_arrival_ss8_118406.jpg
R/V Atlantis makes the final turn to the entrance of Great Harbor in Woods Hole after more than four years away. During that time, it sailed nearly 105,000 miles, conducting 60 science cruises, and the deep submergence vehicle Alvin made 475 dives. Atlantis will remain close to home for the next few months, making two cruises in the western North Atlantic, before embarking in December with Alvin to the Gulf of Mexico.
