Many Languages, One Ocean

Many Languages, One Ocean

September 15, 2017

Corals, coral health, and the threats facing reefs worldwide will be just a few of the items on the agenda at a new conference tomorrow at WHOI. “Oceanos: WHOI en Español e Português” will offer up ocean and ocean-related research for the general public in Spanish and Portuguese. Topics will include the winds and forests of the Amazon, earthquakes in Puerto Rico, the movement of phytoplankton, and the importance of microbes in the ocean, to name a few. The event is free and open to the public and will also be broadcast live on WHOI’s Facebook page. (Photo by Hanny Rivera, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
