Life at the Edge (video series)

Watch this two-part video series following a group of scientists as they explore what makes the shelf break front in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean such a highly productive ecosystem.

 

Part 1:

A group of scientists on WHOI’s research vessel Neil Armstrong spent two weeks at sea in 2018 to study phytoplankton and unravel some of the mysteries of the shelf break front in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean.

 

Part 2:

This second expedition in 2019 aboard the research vessel Thomas G. Thompson, a group of scientists spent another two weeks further delving into the mysteries of plankton along the shelf break front in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean.

This work is part of a three-year, National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded project.
