WHOI scientist Hanu Singh and former graduate student Sacha Wichers examine a photo mosaic of the wreck of RMS Titanic. The 866 individual photos that make up the mosaic were taken in 2004 during a cruise led by Bob Ballard of the Institute for Exploration to survey the wreck and gather artifacts. Ballard, a former WHOI geologist, and his team discovered the wreck site in 1985 and returned again with the submersible Alvin in 1986.
