Test Photo

Graduate students Chris Murphy (in the water), Rogelio Morales-Garcia (holding the instrument), and Clayton Kunz work to calibrate a camera system in the new test tank in WHOI’s Coastal Research Laboratory. Working with engineer Hanu Singh, the group is examining the fundamentals of camera calibration—particularly for color correction and distortion—as the traditional techniques for land-based photo applications are not analytically correct underwater.
