Over the course of nearly six decades at WHOI, Hartley Hoskins has been an integral part of the Institution’s fabric. He sailed on R/V Oceanus when the ship was delivered to Woods Hole in 1975 and was on board for its final cruise under a WHOI flag in 2011 (pictured). He was also on board Atlantis II for that ship’s first cruise and was instrumental in keeping borehole seismology an integral part of the Ocean Drilling Program. In 2015, he retired from WHOI and today the Institution celebrates his past contributions to WHOI as well as his many future opportunities.
