The family of WHOI biologist Gareth Lawson greeted Neil Armstrong yesterday as the ship (and Gareth) returned to Woods Hole. Tomorrow, June 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the public is invited to be a part of the WHOI family and see the ship up close, meet scientists and crew, and see some of the instruments the ship carries to help researchers study the ocean. Alvin and SharkCam will also be on the dock and there will be crafts and displays for the entire family—the ocean science family.(Richard Pittenger, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
