WHOI scientist emeritus Pat Lohmann visited Palau’s Jellyfish Lake to film the daily migration of Mastigias jellyfish. The lake’s unique ecosystem, isolated from the ocean, is home to jellyfish that rely on symbiotic algae for energy. Lohmann’s high-definition footage offers new perspectives on their movement, while WHOI researchers explore how the jellyfish may influence mixing in the lake.
