Journalists Dockside

Each September WHOI hosts a group science journalists from around the world in the Ocean Science Journalism (OSJ) Fellowship Program for a week of experience and information about the breadth and multi-disciplinary nature of modern ocean science. On the WHOI dock, engineer Mike Jakuba (back to camera) showed the 2015 OSJ fellows a unique robotic vehicle created at WHOI—the Nereid Under Ice (NUI)—while engineers Casey Machado and Molly Curran (extreme right) prepared the vehicle for dockside tests.(Photo by Tom Kleindinst, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
