Saving Tico! WHOI + partners work to save West Indian manatee

What role can oceanographers play in successfully rehabilitating and releasing marine animals? A new study illustrates the important perspectives they can provide about where and when to return animals to the open sea. In this case, WHOI Physical Oceanographer Iury Simoes-Sousa played a crucial role in the rescue of a West Indian manatee named Tico! His findings show how oceanographical data can help determine these releases.
