Moonlight on the Long Core

Looking down the barrel of the WHOI Long Core reveals a full moon trailing behind R/V Knorr in January 2010. The ship was in transit from Tampa to Bridgetown, Barbados, where the ship’s crew and eight-man long core operations crew were met by the science party led by Bill Curry and Delia Oppo for a 21-day leg south of Barbados to study paleoclimatology.(Photo by Tom Lanagan, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
