Many Hands Make Light Work

Mechanic Richard “Dicky” Edwards repairs part of a crane in the WHOI machine shop in 2007.  The crane is used for launching and recovering the Jason remotely operated vehicle. The researchers and the fancy vehicles tend to get the headlines, but it also takes the work of dozens of support staff from shop-hands to secretaries to sailors to keep WHOI at the leading edge of ocean science.
