Indoor Fishing

Summer Student Fellow Thiago Martins-Parente, from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), removes scup from a holding tank in the recently renovated wet lab in Redfield Laboratory. The fish were collected by researchers in WHOI Senior Scientist John Stegeman’s lab for a study of enzymes (and the newly discovered genes that code for them) that might metabolize chemical pollutants in fish.
