Glacier’s End

Heading into the summer sun, scientist Fiamma Straneo reviews data collected in Sermilik Fjord, Greenland, in August 2010. Straneo’s work there aims to understand the mechanisms controlling the flow of warm ocean waters towards the Helheim Glacier, which terminates in the fjord, as part of her continuing research into the increased melting of Greenland’s glaciers.
