WHOI 2015 Summer Student Fellows Jerry Fontus (Georgia Institute of Technology) and Julia Lanoue (Brown University) learned how to deploy a water sampling CTD rosette off the fantail of R/V Tioga under the watchful eye of instructor Bruce Tripp. The annual cruise, which gives fellows hands-on experience with ocean sampling and instruments, is one of the most popular activities of the 10-to-12-week program for undergraduates.
