In March 2008 the icebreaker USCGC Healy carried researchers led by WHOI biologist Carin Ashjian to sample in nearly 200 locations in the Bering Sea. The cruise was supported by a parnership of the National Science Foundation’s Bering Sea Ecosystem (BEST) program and the North Pacific Reserach Board’s Bering Sea Integrated Ecosystem Research Program (BSIERP). This April the Polar Discovery team—including chief scientist Ashjian—reboard the Healy to continue studying the Arctic ecosystem, and you are welcome to come along to discover with us.
