Travel
From the airport
- Shuttle: Cloud 9 or Super Shuttle charge between S11 and $17 per person one way to the hotel.
- Taxi: charge is around the same rate; ask the driver.
- San Diego Metropolitan Transit System is the inexpensive way, taking about 30 minutes to get to the hotel. The Bus and Light-Rail Trolley system usually runs every 10 minutes during the day. The Airport Shuttle Bus 992 takes you to the Santa-Fe Depot: pay the driver $2.25, (no change given). At the Santa-Fe Depot buy a $2.50 Trolley ticket at one of the ticket auto-mats, (this takes a few minutes to complete for newcomers, machines give change). Take the fast Green-Line Trolley (North), getting out at the 6th stop, Fashion Valley). Walk over the foot-bridge to the Town and Country property, continuing on and follow signs to the Reservation Desk. (There is also a ticket automat at Fashion Valley and all other stops. You need to have a valid ticket to use the system)
- Driving from the Airport: From the airport follow signs to downtown and then to Interstate 5 North. After about 5 miles you see signs for Old Town and Mission Valley; take the Hotel Circle South Exit. Follow this road become Hotel Circle North, where you see the Town & Country sign. The Hotel has parking available to all guests, with a parking fee of $2.00 per day and $5.00 per day for local day guests.
MARCH WEATHER IN SAN DIEGO
In early March the temperature range measured in the past was around 60 degrees F, it still can be rainy (February is the rainiest month).
POINTS OF INTEREST
San Diego has a number of attractions; among these are the Sea World Aquarium, the Seaport Museum and the downtown Gaslight District, about a 10 minute car ride, or a 15 minute trolley ride.
You can also catch the Green Line, which stops near the property every 10 minutes during the day and takes you to additional San Diego sights and destinations. You have to obtain ticket at the trolley stop - a single ride for $2.50 or a day ticket - at the ticket automat. Within a 5 minute walk from the hotel is the Fashion Valley Mall, which has a variety of stores to browse through. More information can be found at the front desk and at www.sandiego.com/attractions.
