Following is logistical information to start
your planning for the DOEI Tsunami Workshop here in Woods Hole October 30 - 31, 2006. The meeting
will be held in room 507 in the ClarkBuilding on the Quissett Campus of Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution starting at 9:00 am on
Monday, October 30 and ending at 12:00 p.m. on
October 31. A Morss Colloquium titled
“Integration of Ocean Science and Technology into Natural Hazard Mitigation
Programs” will follow the workshop and will be held in the Lillie Auditorium, WoodsHoleVillage, starting at 1 p.m.
Poster abstracts are due to Christina Cueller (ccuellar@whoi.edu) by October 6th. Most of the poster boards available
for the meeting allow a 3´W x 4´H poster. There is also limited space for
larger posters on the walls.
LodgingSecuring hotel rooms will be at your discretion but we do recommend
the
following hotels where WHOI has negotiated a reduced rate. The below
facilities will hold rooms until October 1st for workshop
participants. To avail of the special rates please mention that
you are with WHOI's "Tsunami Workshop".

to choose if you want to travel by bus from Logan
Airport, Boston,
as it is only a few minutes walk from the Falmouth Bus Depot.

will be the same for single or double occupancy.

Our rate: $117 plus 9.7% room tax per night
TransportationA transport shuttle will be arranged to pick guests up each morning and take
them to workshop venue and return them to the above inns in the evenings. We will also work on carpools to get everyone
to and from the workshop.
Both Boston's Logan Airport and Rrovidence's TF Green Airport are about equal distance from WHOI. Logan Airport
is more convenient with direct bus service to Falmouth
and Woods Hole. The bus from Logan

a stop very close to the Inn on the Square. (Put in
Logan Airport
and Falmouth on their web site to
get the correct schedule.) The Coonamessett Inn and Holiday Inn would require a cab from the
bus station.
