The following is logistical information to help you plan for the NOSAMS CSRA Workshop

Emerging Capabilities in Compound-Specific Radiocarbon Analysis in the Oceans” on
June 29 – 30, 2010.

The workshop will be held in room Clark 507 on the Quissett Campus of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.  The National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Facility (NOSAMS) is located in the McLean Lab also on Quissett Campus.

Participants should make their own travel arrangements.  Participant costs for meals served at the Workshop will be provided by NOSAMS.  This includes 2 Breakfasts and 2 Lunches.

Lodging:  A block of rooms has been reserved for arrival Monday, June 28 and departure on Wednesday, June 30 at Sands of Time Motor Inn, 549 Woods Hole Road, Woods Hole, MA, 02543.  The lodging is conveniently located ~ 2 miles from the meeting site and walking distance from the Woods Hole bus terminal.  Please contact the Inn directly to make your reservation and specify your dates and times of arrival and departure by Friday,May 7.  Mention that you are here for the "CSRA Workshop" and verify the rate charged is $152/night plus tax.

To assist you in making your flight arrangements, the local airports and public transportation provided by the airports to Woods Hole are listed below. 

Logan International - Boston, Ma
Located in downtown Boston, Logan International is approximately one hour and thirty minutes from Woods Hole.

T.F. Green - Providence, R.I.
Located in Providence, T.F. Green airport is approximately one hour and twenty minutes from Woods Hole

Bus Service from Airports

Peter Pan Line
The Peter Pan Bus line provides direct service from Logan Airport to the Woods Hole Steamship Authority.  To view schedules choose Logan Airport as departure city and Woods Hole as destination city. Please note there is NOT direct service to Woods Hole from TF Green Airport (Rhode Island).  Connecting service is required in Providence, RI and Bourne, MA.  Please visit their website and contact customer service to get the correct schedule. http://www.peterpanbus.com/

There are other methods to travel from the airports to Woods Hole.  As a guest of WHOI, you are entitled to discounted rates on auto rentals with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental.  Please see the Ground Transportation Link in Related Files for this information as well as other options.  Other Methods of Travel

A shuttle circulates around the WHOI buildings with a stop within short walking distance from the Sands of Time Motor Inn.  You may also choose to make the beautiful 30-minute walk to the meeting site along the Shining Sea bike path near the water.  In addition, the seasonal Whoosh Trolley travels from the Steamship Authority to the Woods Hole Road campuses. 

(The Trolley travels from Woods Hole Road down Route 28 to the Falmouth area for your leisure.  Bus and local trolley schedules may be found at http://www.capecodtransit.org/.  Passengers may board the Trolley at any of the scheduled bus stops or they may flag the trolley down anywhere along the bus route.  Bus service runs along Woods Hole Road and Route 28 in to Hyannis.  To view the bus schedule select “Sealine – Woods Hole to Hyannis schedule” under “Quick Route Information”.  Click on “WHOOSH Trolley” from the menu under Seasonal Service.)
