I am a physical oceanographer seeking to understand the multi-scale oceanic processes and their roles in the global climate system. My approach is observational, using both traditional and modern innovative instrument platforms – such as autonomous underwater vehicle– coupled with numerical modeling, to explore fundamental physical processes.
My previous and current studies are primarily centered on the following topics:
1, Oceanic response to various forcings and perturbations.
2, Mesoscale and sub-mesoscale processes and their influences on the biogeochemistry.
3, Abyssal circulation and its role in climate change.
