Personal Statement

Maryanne came to the WHOI in 1990, working first in the Office of Sponsored Programs as a Sr. Accounting Assistant prior to being promoted to Budget Analyst. She then joined the Controller's Office as an Accountant in 1994. In 1997 she became Department Administrator of the Geology & Geophysics Department where she has overall responsibility for administrative and technical management of the department, including oversight of the department's research proposal process; pre- and post-award grant and contract management; monitoring of funding trends and guidance in developing new funding opportunities for all research staff; and oversight of space allocation.
