Marine animal health, disease and pathology in marine animals, Oceans and Human Health, data management and database development, education and conservation.
My research interests include understanding and interpreting various aspects of ocean health, including pathogen transmission in the marine environment, specifically those of concern to human/public health. I am also interested in quantifying inherent differences in species susceptibility as well as the effects of natural and anthropogenic stressors on disease outcome. The basis of my research interests are to be able to provide the knowledge needed to mitigate human impact on marine species and raise awareness of ocean health and the connection to human health.
