The commission conducts research (including vernal pool studies) and puts on public seminars and offers interpretive tours on Conservation land. This includes, but is not limited to, the location, construction and repair of septic systems, hazardous material storage and disposal, solid waste disposal, bathing water quality, private water supplies, private wells, and non- community public water supplies, including setbacks from coastal beaches, dunes, banks, and barrier beaches. In the summer, the board conducts bi- weekly water quality testing of recreational surface waters.
