The Moving Shoreline Forum
A Shortcourse and Workshop on Coastal Change
Introduction
As part of the activities of the Coastal Ocean Institute at WHOI, we are in the process of organising a forum on coastal change to be held at WHOI from 26th -29th April 2004. The forum is going to consist of a 2 day science meeting followed by a 2 day workshop. The science meeting will feature invited speakers covering topics ranging from sealevel rise, coastal geomorphology, shoreline change (observed and modelled), tools to map the seafloor and policy issues related to shoreline change.
The workshop will be by necessity for a smaller invited group, and is intended to generate a research strategy to addressing shoreline change. We will invite program managers from key federal and state agencies to attend. We will use the workshop to identify outstanding problems in coastal geology and shoreline change, and will generate some specific project outlines that we can follow up on for support.Schedule & Speaker List
