Following is logistical information to start your planning for the Ocean Acidification PI Workshop here in Woods Hole March 22-24, 2011. The meeting will be held in room 507 in the Clark Building on the Quissett Campus of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. We will provide a shuttle from the hotels to the meeting site and back each day. It will loop around for 2 hours to make sure we have gotten everyone, starting at Holiday Inn at 7:15 am each morning. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from each hotel to the Quissett Campus of WHOI. We will provide further details about the shuttle right before the workshop by e-mail. Lodging will be in 2 hotels: The Inn on the Square is about 3 miles from the meeting site. The Holiday Inn in Falmouth, ~ 6 miles away. For both, check-in time is 3 pm; check-out time is 11 am. From the Holiday Inn, make a left out of the entrance, go to the second red light and make a left and the Quissett Campus is about 2.5 miles down the road on the left. Make a left onto the campus and then another left at the Stop sign and you will see the parking lot to your right shortly afterwards. Boston's Logan Airport is the closest airport with the most flights and public transportation to Woods Hole. Please make your air reservation by February 24 and copy Mary Zawoysky at mzawoysky@whoi.edu on your itinerary so we can match up riders and trips back and forth to the airport. The workshop will begin at 8:30 am (7:30 for breakfast) on March 22, 2011, and end at 4 p.m. on March 24, 2011 for air flight planning purposes. The bus from the Boston airport http://peterpanbus.com has a stop close to the Inn on the Square in Falmouth. (Put in Boston Logan Airport or T.F. Greene Airport and then Falmouth on their web site to get the correct schedule.) Also you do not have to reserve the ticket on-line ahead for a set bus, you can buy it on the bus and use the ticket back on any bus. The Holiday Inn would require a cab from the bus station. The workshop will end by 4 pm on Thursday for planning transportation. To get to Inn on the Square, as you step down from the Peter Pan Bus at the Falmouth Bus Station, look to your left and walk towards the Falmouth Enterprise office. Don't cross the street but turn left and walk for about a block until you have to turn and as you come to a street, so turn left and Inn on the Square is about a block down the street, so you are basically walking around the block to get to the hotel. To get to the Holiday Inn from the Falmouth Bus station, you must take a taxi, and here are a few Phone numbers if you want to set that up ahead, which we recommend: All-Seasons Taxi 508-548-9990; Falmouth Taxi 508-548-3100. There are many restaurants within walking distance from the Inn on the Square. The Holiday Inn has their own restaurant. We will work on shuttle and carpools to get everyone to the workshop who needs a ride.
