Election Details
We have at least 7 nominations, and we will continue to accept nominations through the end of the year.  Mary will be putting together the ballot, and getting a mailing labels from HR.  Voting will take place in mid January.  We will consider whether or not we can hold an online election.

Diversity Brochure Working Group
The WHOI Diversity Brochure is still in progress. 

New Working Group Ideas
We discussed new working groups that could be more proactive in obtaining funding and developing programs from improving diversity.  Ideas included:

·         A group to focus on education issues (including summer fellows, grad students and post-docs) which could work with APO to build relationships with minority serving institutions.

·         A group focusing on obtaining funding for diversity programs such as workshops.  NSF and other organizations provide funding for programs to improve Diversity in science and engineering.

·         A group focusing on helping PIs with broader impacts that focus on diversity-related issues.  This could include holding PI meetings to discuss ideas, and creating a web page on the WHOI Diversity Committee site that would provide information on existing programs and contacts.

·         A group focusing on improving diversity in non-scientific hiring.
