WHOI Resources

NOSAMS

The National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Facility provides analyses of 14C at natural abundance levels to the ocean sciences research community.

BCO-DMO

The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office works with investigators to publish data from research projects funded by the Biological and Chemical Oceanography Sections and the Office of Polar Programs Antarctic Organisms & Ecosystems Program at the U.S. National Science Foundation.

Coastal Groundwater Geochemistry Group

Working to understand the impact of submarine groundwater discharge on chemical cycles in coastal ocean systems, especially the chemical cycles of naturally occurring radioisotopes (e.g. radium, radon), trace metals (e.g. barium, uranium), and nutrients (e.g. nitrate, phosphate).

Cafe Thorium Radioanalytical Facility

Analytical support for the detection of natural and man-made radionuclides in environmental samples.

2011 Sample Data

CTD, bottle, and event log from R/V KOK 2011 cruise available on WHOI's Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO). Also available here.

Isotope Geochemistry Facility

Noble gas abundance and isotope ratio measurements for seawater and fresh waters, rocks, and other materials.

Northeast National Ion Microprobe Facility

Measuring the abundances of diverse trace elements and stable and radiogenic isotopes at micron scales.

Micropaleontology Mass Spec Facility

Analysis of calcium carbonate samples by Finnigan MAT253 mass spectrometer systems.

Fourier-Transform Mass Spectrometry Facility

Sample analyses requiring the ultrahigh resolution and mass accuracy.

Plasma Mass Spectrometry Facility

Trace metal and isotope ratio measurements.

Organic Mass Spectrometry Facility

Isotopic and compositional compound specific and bulk analyses of carbon and nitrogen.

Northeast National Ion Microprobe Facility

Measuring the abundances of diverse trace elements and stable and radiogenic isotopes at micron scales.

Radionuclides in Drinking Water (EPA)

A web site designed to provide information about radionuclides in drinking water and provide guidance and training to help the states and water systems comply with the standard.

MarIs (IAEA)

MarIS is a GIS-based relational database covering the distribution of radioactive and stable isotopes in the marine environment and including oceanographic parameters, such as seawater temperature, salinity and bathymetry.
