    Screen version of the life of Malcolm X, who through his religious conversion to Islam, found the strength to rise up from a criminal past to become an influential civil rights leader.  Based on the book The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley.

    Europa, Europa (1990) is based on the true story of a Jewish German boy who survived the Holocaust by falling in with Nazi soldiers and becoming a member of the Hitler Youth – living in constant fear that his true identity will be discovered.  This movie focuses on religious diversity which has not yet been addressed by previous Diversity Movie Night showings.

    SOMETHING THE LORD MADE is the story of two men - an ambitious white surgeon and a gifted black carpenter turned lab technician - who defied the racial strictures of the Jim Crow South and together pioneered the field of heart surgery.
