Women of the Ocean

February 11, 2017

WHOI post-doctoral investigator Kara Dodge (left) and engineer Amy Kukulya made a series of trips this fall to track and film sea turtles using technology based on the SharkCam system developed by Kukulya and colleagues at the Oceanographic Systems Lab. Their efforts resulted in data that Dodge hopes will help her better understand the challenges sea turtles face in waters around Cape Cod where they come to feed each year. February 11 is International Women and Girls in Science Day, an opportunity to recognize the critical role women and girls play in scientific advancement and technological development worldwide—and for WHOI to acknowledge at home and in the ocean.
