In 2008, WHOI chemist Scott Doney (pictured) testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology’s subcommittee on Energy and Environment about the Federal Ocean Acidification Research and Monitoring Act, which was passed in 2009. Last month, Doney joined more than 300 scientists in authoring the National Climate Assessment (NCA) Report 3, whch details current and future impacts of climate change on the U.S. The report examines the impact our changing climate is having and will have on various regions acros the country, as well as its coasts and the ocean.
