Since 1996, the centennial of Henri-Antoine Becquerel's discovery of radioactive decay, the WHOI Becquerels have been running the Falmouth Marathon as a 5-person relay team. Core members of the team are Jerzy Blusztajn, Stan Hart and Bernhard Peucker-Ehrenbrink. Stace Beaulieu, Peter Clift, Roger Francois, Valier Galy, Rocky Geyer, Maura Hanning, Matt Jackson, Peter Kelly, Pete Landry, Ben Linhoff, Jill McDermott, Jerry McManus, Sune Nielsen, Ken Sims, Rob Spencer, Hubert Staudigel and Chris Waters have been completing our team in past marathon relays. While we'd like to finish the race in less than three hours and thirty minutes (sub-8 minute miles), what really motivates us is the post-race beer at Liam Maguire's Irish pub near the finish line.
