My research interests include a broad range of applications of passive and active acoustics. Passive acoustics: anthropogenic noise; sediment-generated noise; flow-noise, mitigation of flow-noise; environmental impacts of sound produced by marine renewable energy devices. My previous work focused on energetic coastal environment where peak tidally-driven current velocities exceeded 3 m/s.
Active acoustics: broadband acoutic scattering. My current work focusing on high-frequencys scattering from sea ice and the detection of crude oil spills under sea ice.
