Research Interests

My research tools can be defined as data synthesis, ecosystem modeling and the integration of the two through data assimilation. I am interested in using these tools to study microbial ecology, biogeochemistry and climate change in the global ocean. By using these tools, I have studied marine ecosystems focusing on the roles of two microbes, the heterotrophic and diazotrophic bacteria, from cross-site comparison, temporal changes in a long-term station, to a global analysis.
