Physiology and ecology of phytoplankton. Influence of physical forcing on planktonic ecosystems; Impact of small-scale physics on planktonic interactions; Physical-biological interactions governing HABs (Harmful Algae Blooms) development; Linkage of models, in situ observations, and remote sensing to understand HAB processes.
