  • Carbon metabolism of uncultivable archaeal groups
  • Microbially-mediated carbon transformations in sedimentary and water-column environments
  • Isotopic signatures of microbial carbon metabolisms
  • Improved understanding of tetraether-based paleo-proxies
  • Novel techniques and instrumentation for radiocarbon and stable carbon isotopic measurement of individual biomarker compounds.
