CICOR’s primary mission is to help bring WHOI’s world-renowned scientific capabilities to bear on some of NOAA’s primary missions and research priorities. These include advancing understanding of the ocean’s role in climate change and of the processes that affect the coastal ocean and marine ecosystems. Such advances in understanding will enable NOAA to monitor the ocean and mitigate ocean-related societal impacts.
