Research
Funding
The $4-million increase in research funding (up 3.5 percent
over 2004) was driven mostly by growth in funding from
the National Science Foundation
and National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration. Navy funding continues
to decline as the Navy increases its emphasis on applied
research.
